Middle School is where CBC's pathway thinking starts in earnest. Learners study a broader, more specialised subject set, taught by subject teachers in dedicated learning areas, with regular guidance on strengths and interests as they approach the transition to Senior School.
Golden Learners currently ends at Grade 9. We work closely with families through Grade 9 to help identify the right Senior School fit for each learner's demonstrated pathway.
English, Kiswahili, and an introduction to a foreign or indigenous language option.
Pre-algebra and geometry building the base for Senior School pathways.
Biology, chemistry, and physics foundations taught together, then increasingly apart.
Practical subjects that introduce STEM, arts & sports science, and social sciences pathways.
History, geography, and life skills, with more independent research expected.
Continued, with more room for a learner to specialise in what they're drawn to.
CBC groups Senior School study into broad pathways — STEM, Social Sciences, and Arts & Sports Science. Middle School is where a learner's strengths start pointing toward one of these, and our teachers flag that direction to parents well before Grade 9 ends, not at the last minute.
